Meyer Ranch Trek

 

Meyer Ranch Park is one of Jefferson County Open Space’s crown jewels.  Hiking in the area offers great wildlife viewing potential and a sense of solitude. Once the pups arrive in Morrison, they will explore the Owl’s Perch, Lodge Pole Loop, and Sunny Aspen trails! Don’t worry, lots of water and snacks will be provided!

Golden Gate Canyon State Park

Pups will love the 3 mile loop hike on Racoon trail, located in Golden Gate Canyon State Park. Beginning at the Panorama Trailhead, the trek sports lots of shade, 360° views of snowcapped peaks, wildflowers, and trickling brooks. Pups of course will enjoy plenty of breaks to fuel up on treats and water! However, this field trip is not suited for the faint of heart.

The 177-acre paradise of Sloan’s Lake Park is one of the most stunning places in Denver! Pups will participate in a three-mile trek around lake to observe the wildlife, boats, and views of the mountains! Lots of water and treats will be supplied. Pups will also enjoy a picnic halfway through!

Pups will explore the Panorama Trail, and connect with the Big Dry Creek Trail in Westminster. Pups will enjoy the scenic mountain backdrop as we trek through fields of prairie dogs alongside a refreshing "not so dry creek". Luxurious wide sidewalks, cooler January weather, and flat grade make this hike available to all levels of adventurous pups.

Pups will be head to Green Mountain in Lakewood, CO!  They will explore part of the 2,400 acres of open space by exploring trekking the Green Mountain and Hayden Trails. Their paws will be covering over 4 miles! They will get amazing views for the front range, Red Rocks Amphitheater, and Bandimere Speedway!

PIAG 3rd Annual Holiday Party

After the in laws have returned home, and your ears have stopped ringing from the excited screams of small children, why not wind down with a beer and some presents @ the #rd annual PIAG Holiday Party hosted at Joyride Brewery?! For the 3rd year our holiday party will be bursting at the seams with gifts and treats. This is our opportunity to show appreciation for all you wonderful PIAG parents, poop group pups, and kitties! Come meet pack leaders, party with the pups, eat , drink, and be merry! Each parent will receive 1 free drink ticket, party favors, and a chance to win one of our fabulous raffle prize baskets! Holiday raffle baskets are filled with treats, toys, and PIAG swag! Don’t forget to bring a snack to share with everyone at the potluck.

Staunton State Park Meander

Pups will be shuttled up to Staunton State Park, just west of Conifer. They will explore high grassy meadows at 8,100 feet in elevation and climb 2,000 feet to conquer the soaring granite cliffs standing over 10,000 feet in elevation!  Pups will be traveling along a combination of trails and will hike a minimum of 5 miles, with frequent water breaks!

While taking a stroll upon the rolling hills through the beautiful 80 acre Cheesman Park, the pups will be ghost hunting in disguises with their friends! Cheesman Park is not only frequented by visitors wanting to enjoy the 150 mile panoramic view from the pavilion, but is also said to be home to a number of restless spirits.

 

Make sure to leave your pup's costume out on the counter and we will make sure to get them into it before the fun begins!

Pups will be shuttled up to Boulder, CO to get magnificent views of the Flatirons and leaves changing colors. They will be trekking a total of 4 miles with almost 1000 ft of elevation gain on the Kohler Mesa Trial loop! Don’t worry, pups will be given plenty of water and take frequent breaks to catch their breath.

Pups will get to explore Echo Lake Park, a 617-acre park west of Denver along the Mount Evans Scenic Byway. Being nestled in a glacially formed hanging valley at over 10,000 feet, pups will experience spectacular views! The group will start out on the Echo Lake Trail, 1.3-mile loop around the lake. Then, the remaining time will be spent exploring the trails in the forested land adjacent to the lake!

With over 100 acres to roam off-leash, Cherry Creek State Park Off-Leash Dog Area is a paradise for dogs. Pups will explore new smells, make friends, and splash in the creek. Please note there is not a lot of shade during the hike. If your pup doesn’t like hiking without a shade umbrella, this field trip might be too strenuous.

Standley Lake Trek

This month we will be trekking along the banks of Standley Lake located in Westminister. It is one of the largest bodies of water in Denver's metropolitan area. With a circumference of 11-miles around we will set out to master 6 miles. Heading 3-miles one direction and then heading back the other way. We will be stopping for snacks and water breaks along the way. Pups will get to enjoy the beautiful scenery of the mountains reflecting off the lake, enjoy the breeze through their hair, and the company of their friends all the while basking their buns in the sun!

Pups will explore a 242-acre park in Wheat Ridge, which wraps around a beautiful little fishing lake. They will get to splash their paws and take a quick dip (depending on the weather of course). We will meander through, up and around the park with our friends stopping for a quick picnic of refreshing water and yummy treats.

We will be taking the Mule Deer Trail, in Golden Gate Canyon State Park. Pups will hike a 7.4 mile loop that weaves through open meadows, evergreen forest, wildflowers, and aspen groves.  Pups will enjoy the scenery and get plenty of exercise. Pups will be returned pooped and happy! As always ice-cold water and delicious treats will be provided

Pups will be able to romp and play through 107 acres of their very own off leash pup haven! Pups will splash around with their friends in the Cherry Creek and enjoy a short leashed walk through Cherry Creek State Park.
